Michael is wearing the black dog onesie from Martha's Vineyard. This onesie was purchased by Papa & Grandma Surburg when Timothy was a baby and each boy has worn it. I love the fact that he is so droopy in the diaper area! He is my little character!
Everyone is excited for the warm weather & shorts. We were just ready to go to school when Matthew asked to take a picture in his new hippo shirt & shorts!
I'm also adding one of the littlest guy in one of my favorite rompers. I am a big fan of turtles & love green on Michael. He's so funny in his sandals....they are the first real shoes with soles and he picks up his feet with each step.
Happy Easter to everyone. It has been a very good Easter Sunday! We started with Easter breakfast, followed by the egg hunt during the late part of Sunday School, had an egg hunt at home and a nice Easter dinner with the Nelsons! We tend to be alone on Easter, so we invited Dr and Mrs Nelson (the kids' favorite "special" grandparents). Last Easter, I was so ready to have a baby and this year, I have a toddling 1 year old (what a difference a year makes)!
I know that I may change my tune as she gets older, but she's sure at a good stage right now. It also helps that her brothers have been quite crazy and defiant at times. Abby is both helpful and appreciative. She is after all the "little mother." We took a few photos in her new dress from Grandma Surburg, so I'll post my silly little darling! And yes, she has her broken tiara on instead of her red headband!
So, I didn't quite get a post done on Michael's real bday, so here is his 1 year and 1 week bday. He is ALL boy and completely mobile! While we didn't plan to have a 4th, he is a joy in our world. I can just eat this little guy up when he's walking around and gives you a smile and giggle. He really just moves all around from toy to toy and likes to check out everything that his brothers and sister are doing at all times. He currently has a few marks on his noggin and a scrape on his nose from early walking falls. They are just the first of many! :)
We are celebrating Timothy's 8th birthday and Michael's 1st birthday with the family. We are thankful that Uncle Matthew was willing to bring the cousins without Tante Amy and thankful that Tante Amy was willing to let them come without her (she's having preterm contractions). Also here for the party, Grandma B, Papa Trains and Grandma Surburg. We've played hard, eaten well and we're all enjoying time together. I also let Michael eat a small cake until he decided that he was done and it was a HUGE mess. Here a a few first photos.
So, we're in bday mode here in the Surburg house. Timothy is 8 today and it was a great day. After church, we had a little photo shoot outside...just Timothy and no one else. We also opened presents, ate breakfast for dinner at Timothy's request and the twins and I mad a Yoda cake. Pictures of the cake will come tomorrow. I need to sleep and they need to be downloaded. This is just the start of the festivities because the whole family will be here to do a joint celebration for Timothy & Michael, next weekend. Enjoy!
Alright, I know he's not quite a year old, but Michael has been crawling since he was 6 1/2 months. He has finally decided to walk, but it is all on his own terms and not with assistance. He also prefers to walk when no one is giving him attention. That's my independent 11 month old! :) I also added a cute one of him grazing under the counter. Who needs a dog when you have an 11 month old???? LOL!
I was looking at photos on my computer and was comparing my 3 boys at age 11 months. I am in denial that Michael is almost 1 year and will no longer be a baby. While I am excited to watch him grow, he is my last baby and it is a bit sad at times. Anyway, I have posted a photo of Timothy, Matthew & Michael at 11 months for your viewing pleasure. It's funny because I totally forget how bald Timothy was until he was about 18 months, I forget how chubby and strawberry blond that Matthew was at 11 months and Michael is in desperate need of a hair cut. Also, I decided to add a sweet photo of Abby on Easter at 11 months....a photo of mother and daughter from April 2006! They are backwards in case you had a hard time identifying the boys!
So, after going back and forth about shorter or longer hair, Abby decided to cut her long locks off. I wasn't sure when Renee was at the beginning stages, but I LOVE this new haircut. It will be so much easier to comb and super low maintenance. Matthew is in the photos too because he also had a haircut, but nothing more than the normal winter cut.
So, after more than 24 hours of sleet/ice which left 2+ inches, we did get about 4 inches of snow on top. My kiddos are in HEAVEN! Matthew & Abby were too little to play in the snow in Chicago, and Timothy just LOVES snow. We played outside while Michael napped, and the twins headed back out this afternoon with Mark. I don't mind 4 inches of snow, but I don't need any more! Enjoy the photos! I know the far right photo is not that exciting, but Matthew was fascinated with the ice!
I've become friends with a newer member of our church, so we had our new friends over to eat lunch and play on Wednesday. They are about a month apart, but aren't they too cute together! Everyone had a good time....although Michael spit up a million times!
Alright, it has been over a month since I graced everyone with my presence on this blog. We have just been CRAZY busy, and I don't know if it's Christmas, 4 kids or 2 busy work schedules (well, it's probably all 4 together). We are all doing quite well although Michael continues to get teeth which makes him a bit cranky! I never did blog our nice visit with the other young Surburg family, our wonderful early Christmas with Michael & my Mom and then, our Christmas visit from my Mother and Father in Law! I will do a bit of a photo replay! Enjoy!
