Will I ever get out of my house again?

Still hanging out with sick kiddos. I really don't know if they will ever beat this bug. Abby is cranky (shocker) and hitting everyone in town and Matthew (well is sweet as usual) but still getting tired of being hit and taken advantage of by his sis. I don't blame him. So, I just keep praying for health and warmer weather.

Last night, I took Timothy to Toys R Us to buy a "spiderman laptop" with his giftcard, but once he realized he would use all of the $$ on the giftcard, he was ready to find something else. So, after touring the entire (YES,ENTIRE STORE), he decided on another Diego toy. We came home and Mark just died laughing. Our lovely 5 (almost 6) year old bought a toy for 2+. All so he could save some money on his giftcard. In my mind, I'm all good with any purchase because he will pass all of his toys down to the twins and someone will play with it.

So, another day of home, laudry, mopping my floors (maybe) and fun at the Surburg house. I really feel like a stay at home mom when we stay at home so much. I need a job but that is another blog. Later.

p.s. Yes, Sara, the Illini did win (Mark was a little upset after the last few big wins, oh well!)!

I hate January

Alright.........I have January again this year. Last year, I had sick kids the entire month and I'm following the same pattern again this yaer. Matthew woke up with some congestion (not a huge deal) and then as I felt his head, I knew he had a temperature. UGH!!!! I took his temp and it registered at 101.7........UGH again. So, we will be spending today in the house. Fun for mom.

So, I am doing laundry, straightening a bit and oh yeah, listing some more stuff on Ebay. I LOVE Ebay and am now addicted. I think I made $140 on 4 things. Love that. I will see if I can break my record (doubt it). Anyway, I am off to fold laudry load #2 while the twins sleep.

good visit with the doyle's

I thought that I needed to get on and post a little something. I'll start with our nice visit with Sara, Kate & Griff.....I think everyone had a good time and everyone was happy with their gifts from Christmas(a little late). All 3 kids are sleeping with their cozy blankets as I write. I will attempt to post a photo of the big kids playing but no promises.

My next and only other thought is I LOVE EBAY & AMAZON. I think they may be my saving grace to make a litlle money until I start to work.

Until tomorrow.

dreary Friday but its sunny in my basement

I am sooooo excited that I now have dish network on the tv in the basement. I can walk and watch TV at the same time (what else can I ask for?) ! I may look at clouds and rain outside, but the basement is sunny and happy for me. Now, I just need to get down there and get the whole bin thing organized so it's presentable. I REALLY want to have it organized by Monday evening. We'll see. Oh yeah...it probably won't happen because Sara, Kate and Griff are coming on Sunday, so I doubt I'll be working on Sun/Mon. Oh well, it will get done someday.

Later....I may attempt to post another photo later...my kiddos got Valentine shirts (Matthew's says "Most Eligible Bachelor" and Abby's just has miscellaneous Love saying and hearts). They are too cute.

I'll write more later...must keep up with Doylesdoings..Hah!

special and sad day for the Stahlke family

Thought that I'd make another attempt at putting up a photo today. It worked last night, but not today. Who knows.

It was an overall good day. As usual, I hung out with the twins. Everyone was most pleasant and rather well behaved (as 19 month olds go). I'm ready for about 6months-1 year for better understanding of cause and effect. We'll see.

Anyway, today is a sad day for the Stahlke family as 1 year ago today, we lost Grandma Stahlke at 99 yr & 10 months. She was healthy up until the last days of her life. She is missed but lives in her 5 living children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. I attempted to post a sweet photo of my kids with her 2 months before she died but it won't post. I'm about to give up on photo posting.

Day 2 and I was able to get back in to post a 2nd day. This is monumental for me.
Good morning in the Surburg house. Timothy was up at 7:00 without pushing and by 7:35 he was already for school. The boys were off by 8:00.

For the twins, it was the normal ritual. I feel like we need to have a little shake up, but after a couple weeks of illness, I should just take the norm and run with it. We will be going out today for the 1st time in weeks! The twins do continue to talk more and more. Abby is regularly putting 2 words together and Matthew is beginning to catch on. I just read an article from my MIL (thanks) about twins and learning from one another. I see it more and more each day and yes, I know it seems like common sense but there was 1/2 a page article in the paper.

Today, I'm feeling really bad that I don't keep up with friends from Texas & Chicago and some from college & growing up. I am going to make an effort to work on communicating more in the future. One friend from growing up just had quints in St. Louis and I would love to see him and the babes.

Here is a last sweet vision for the day

Photo practice

This is just practice to add a photo.

Look at that girl who LOVES spaghetti. I love that smile and have missed it the last week. And to those who haven't seen them....she finally has teeth.

starting again

This is my 3rd attempt at starting a blog. I can't ever seem to remember my password or user name or something. I really need an outlet for my thoughts. Life is just too fast.
Tonight at dinner, Timothy was asked about when a classmate started at his school. We were attempting to find out if he was new to the class or had been there all year and this was a new friend!?! Timothy replied, " the beginning of the year is just toooooo long ago." That's a 5 yr old for you. I feel like August and starting school was just the other day and to him it was forever ago.
The twins are finally starting to feel better and I hope they will continue on this path. We had our first get together with everyone for Bible Study this am. Pray that no germs were shared.
Enough until the am.
